For my regular visitors, greetings once again.  I’ll be back and updating soon enough, but with the holiday and a busy schedule, it has been difficult to find computer time … ya, I know, so unlike me ;-P

My colleagues in Christ will be swamping the site looking for all things “Bishop Salmon”, the retired Bishop of South Carolina.  In my exhaustion, only being home for a half and hour before starting to check, name and upload these files, I can say little, but what I can say is that everyone who was at this conference will remember it.  It felt at times as if we were in a Shakespeare play … Henry V and the Crispin Soliloquy!

We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition:

Except there was no blood, no bruises … yes, I know, I’m speaking of Clergy Conference :-) .

It was wonderful:  Truly wonderful.  I am privileged to have been a part of this weekend.  Who could have thought that a series of talks anticipated to be on Financial Stewardship would do that and more; it was focused on unity, sharing, trusting, giving of first fruits, and all for the Love of Christ: The building up of the Gospel.

These simple jottings will get a proper treatment tomorrow.

HERE WE GO:

Please Note that these are WMA files.  Not everyone will be able to play these with ease, but most will.  I intend on converting them to MP3’s at some point when I have the chance (this is the site I use http://media-convert.com/convert/).

PLEASE, DON’T COMPLAIN TO ME ABOUT FORMAT ETC.  I have done this for the Love of my Lord and for the Gift that +Ed has been to us.  Also this is a gift to my collegues whom I pray for and support in every way I can.

IF YOU HAVE DIALUP … go away :-) LOL.  Sorry, I love you in Christ, but that love can’t get you a highspeed line and these files took 55mins to upload at a good speed; dial up might take days.  Yet I would try if I were you ;-)  They came in for me at 600 Kb/sec so the download pipe is big if you have a good high-speed connection.  I suggest downloading one at a time, and lsitening to one while d/l the other.

THESE ARE RAW!  I did not edit them.  People around the recorder knew it was good and sensitive, I belive nothing was said that was sensitive, but I have yet to go through it with a fine tooth comb.

I ask prayers for Jean who broke her leg just before church yesterday.  Keep her in your thoughts today as she receives surgery.

Also remember 5 year old Willow who was diagnosed with Leukemia about a week and a half ago and who will now need to go through 6 months of Chemo-therapy.

Lastly pray for Marg who is to have very serious back surgery on the 14th, and which will replace existing work to alleviate excruciating pain.

On a lighter note, remember my poor car as she has been having terrible tire issues.  In between services I had another flat tire.  Fortunatly I was relatively close to my garage.  As I walked the 20 mins to the Florenceville church a parishioner spotted me and drove me … today his car had a flat :-/

Wow, back in the day this was an important issue :-)  Haven’t we all seen “laxative tantrums?” For me… not so much.

Thanks Gizmodo for another awesome article… go and read this, you won’t be disappointed.  Ever wonder about what this that and the other cables do?  Here’s your answer.

I love the BAS, and I hope you also recognize I love BCP, but when it comes to the Offices (Mattins and Evensong), nothing compares to the rhythm of the BCP.  This too is the case with Compline, commonly called Night Prayers in the 21st century.  There is nothing like it and it is so very beautiful.  I was first exposed to it at CAMMAC choir camp and I can honestly say it has very much shaped my spirituality.  Maybe, just maybe, I might offer a few services in the fall at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Florenceville.

Here is a picture taken by “Sweeny” at Canterbury during a “Pilgrimage” / Night Prayers Service.

I use Google all the time, like an encyclopedia, dictionary and library.  But there is a new kid on the block and you might be interested.  Developed by some ex-google people “Cuil” indexes more pages and has a nice and familiar interface.  Try it out or read more:

Fear and Trembling!

That was my experience these past few months, knowing full well that a number of upgrades had taken place and I was too fearful to change.  Oh yes even I the intrepid lover of change was affraid to tamper with the blog.

Alas my love of my iPod Touch and the recent Wordpress Application made me want to change and fast.  See I couldn’t write a blog from my “Touch”… ie anywhere … if I didn’t upgrade the site.  Well I was going to do it tomorrow but I have a number of things going on and thought why not do it now.  And infact it was easy.  So my theme and everything stayed the same with little to no change for you the gentle ready.  But for me on this end there are massive changes.
